With a history stretching back to the 1980s, Amsterdam brand Scotch & Soda was dynamically relaunched in 2001. It’s 1972 when Maurizio and Isabella open one of the very first denim factories in Italy. In Urbania; later known as La valle dei jeans or The valley of jeans, Maurizio’s passion for craftsmanship and beautiful jeans comes to life. Besides producing jeans for well-known brands, Maurizio decides to set up his own label and names it after the love of his life, Isabella Garcia.

The brand’s history began over a hundred years ago in the Tuscan village of Certaldo. In 1899, Luca and Lorenzo Manzini took over their father’s manufactory for men’s underwear – the beginning of an incomparable success story. Soon, the brothers sewed their first men’s shirts, and the name Certaldo became a trademark for style and quality and a symbol of italian clothing culture
